Step outside and capture the energy of your surroundings in this immersive two-day urban sketching workshop. Designed for beginners and early-intermediate artists, participants will learn how to begin a sketch, develop it with confidence, and compose a visually engaging spread using multiple sketches.
Working on location, you will draw inspiration from the environment while exploring sketching techniques with pencil and pen. You’ll also learn how to enhance your sketches with watercolor washes, adding depth, color, and atmosphere. The workshop covers essential principles such as tonal values, perspective, and simple composition, giving you the tools to structure your drawings effectively.
Through guided exercises and hands-on practice, you will build confidence in capturing the character of urban landscapes, from architecture and street scenes to everyday details. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a collection of sketches demonstrating both skill and personal expression, ready to continue sketching beyond the workshop.
